PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper post-processing device having a plurality of hole drilling means and capable of selecting one hole drilling means selectively and preventing obstruction in conveyance of paper due to protrusion of a hole drilling blade and to provide its control method. SOLUTION: This paper post-processing device has the first hole drilling means 42 and the second hole drilling means 44 provided with the hole drilling blade advancing into and retracting from a conveyance passage P1 and drilling a hole in a paper in the conveyance passage, respectively, a motor 420 driving them, a first one-way clutch 415 transmitting rotation power of the motor to the first hole drilling means, a second one-way clutch 424 transmitting rotation in the reverse direction, and a first hole drilling blade position sensor PS2 and a second hole drilling blade position sensor PS3 detecting respective positions of the hole drilling blades of the first and second hole drilling means. A position of the hole drilling blade is obtained by timing of an initial signal or a copy start signal to evacuate the hole drilling blade to an evacuation position by controlling the motor.
