PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display having an EM sensor is provided to realize normal transmission of an electro magnetic signal between an EM sensor and an electronic pen by omitting a metal lamp housing from a valid area of the EM sensor, thereby normally detecting a position. CONSTITUTION: A backlight unit is formed of a liquid crystal panel(40), a light guide plate(33) installed under the liquid crystal panel, a lamp(31) installed at one side of the light guide plate, and a reflector(34) formed on a lower surface of the light guide plate. A first lamp housing(32) is made of a flexible material to be extended from the lower part of the reflector for covering the lamp. A second lamp housing(35) is formed at a lower part of the first lamp housing for supporting the lamp while covering the lamp, wherein the second housing is formed at a non-valid area of an EM(ElectroMagnetic) sensor(39). A main support(42) supports the liquid crystal panel and the backlight unit. The EM sensor is formed under the main support, the first and second lamp housings. A case top(43) covers the main support and the outline of the liquid crystal panel.
