The crate (1) has corner cells (3) provided with fixed spacer elements (4) having a height which is 2-4 times greater than the cell height. The length of the crate is 2-8 times smaller than 120 cm and the width is 2-8 times smaller than 80 cm. The crate is made from plastic and divided into substantially identical interconnected cells. Independent claims are also included for the following: (a) Stack of these crates strengthened by vertical shafts (9) passed through the central openings (14) in the spacer elements and the connecting passages (15) through the cells; and (b) In-line process for producing and filling these crates, by injection- moulding individual crates and supplying them in series to a potting medium filling machine after cooling.
