The activation code registered in electronic or magnetic form in the electromagnetic scratch card, is used to activate the card balance associated with the electromagnetic scratch card, by comparing the activating challenge presented by the server corresponding to the card identification (ID) in response to the customer's request and initial challenge present in the card. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) electromagnetic scratch card; (2) service receiving terminal; and (3) service providing server.
