PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a housing for optical device that can improve productivity. SOLUTION: A main housing 13 of the housing 9 for optical device is provided with an engagement part 23 in one body. A lid body 14 of the housing 9 for optical device is provided with a lid body engagement part 41 in one body. The lid body engagement part 41 is engaged with the engagement part 23 of the main housing 13 to close a portion of an opening part 12 of the main housing 13, thereby locking the lid body 14 to the main housing 13. Screwing processes in fitting operation for the main housing 13 and lid body 14 are reduced to improve the productivity. The engagement part 23 is integrally provided to the main housing 13 and the lid body engagement part 41 is integrally provided to the lid body 14 to decrease the number of components, thereby improving the productivity more.
