PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrostatic latent image developing toner excellent in chargeability, hot storage resistance and moisture uptake resistance, having a sharper particle size distribution, and capable of forming high-definition images without bringing surface roughness of images or causing incomplete wiping or adhesion on a photoreceptor over a prolonged period of time. SOLUTION: The electrostatic latent image developing toner is manufactured by a method comprising a step of forming fine resin particles by a wet process, a step of forming core particles by agglomerating at least the fine resin particles and colorant particles in a dispersion medium and fixing these by heating under agglomeration, a step of forming shelled particles by adding and mixing fine particles for shells with the resulting core particle dispersion and sticking the fine particles for shells to surfaces of the core particles, and a step of heating the resulting shelled particle dispersion.
