PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a guide rail shielding device, shielding a recessed groove of a guide rail while a traveling gate is opened, opening the recessed groove in closing the gate not to obstruct closing of the gate, and not obstructing the passage of a shopping car, a stroller and a wheelchair not to cause tripping. SOLUTION: A shielding member is provided on the opposite side to the caster running surface of the guide rail to freely rotate around the horizontal axis. The shielding member is adapted to shield a gate fall preventing tool or a recessed groove for engaging with a fall preventing roller formed in the guide rail when the traveling gate is in the open state, and open the recessed groove when the traveling gate is in the close state.
