PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of producing an electrolytic copper foil by using an extracted copper sulfate solution exhausted from a copper refining process that is impossible heretofore in order to supply the low-cost electrolytic copper foil to the market. SOLUTION: In the method of producing electrolytic copper foil by electrolyzing a copper sulfate solution, as the copper sulfate solution, the one obtained by subjecting an extracted copper sulfate solution extracted from a refining electrolytic cell for obtaining electrolytic copper to active carbon treatment is used. Alternatively, in the method of producing electrolytic copper foil by electrolyzing a copper sulfate solution, as the copper sulfate solution, the one obtained by subjecting an extracted copper sulfate solution extracted from a refining electrolytic cell for obtaining electrolytic copper to active carbon treatment, and thereafter adding an additive for improving the physical properties of copper foil thereto is used.
