PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method of live wire insertion/extraction for adapting to an AC power supply fan aiming a power supply device with a large heat generation and improving maintainability when replacing the components. SOLUTION: This is the device of live wire insertion/extraction for replacing a single AC power supply fan in a state where rotary power is supplied from the power supply device in electronic equipment with a plurality of AC power supply fans mounted thereon. This device of live wire insertion/extraction is composed of: a state detecting means for sending an removing start signal by detecting a state of the start of the removing operation of the AC power supply fan and sending an insertion end signal by detecting a state of the end of an inserting operation of the AC power supply fan; and a supply control means for breaking supply of the rotary power for the single AC power supply fan when receiving the removing start signal from the state detecting means and re-starting the supply of the rotary power when receiving the insertion end signal.
