PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording medium transporting device for an image forming device capable of aligning the recording media exhausted from the exhaust part and transporting them smoothly to a sorting part. SOLUTION: The recording medium transporting device includes a belt conveyor 9 installed between its exhaust hole 8 and the sorting part, in which transportation to the sorting part is made in the direction perpendicular to the exhausting direction of a print sheet from the exhaust hole 8, and further a belt body 9a is provided which is movable in the transporting direction. At one end of the belt body 9a on the side opposite the exhaust hole 8 perpendicular to the transporting direction, a wall part 9b protruding from the surface of the belt body 9a is formed in the transporting direction.
