<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device and an image display device which hardly cause contrast degradation due to a change in visual angle, reversal in gradation and black and white, a change in hue, etc., and is free of bright spot defects by using an antiglare and antireflection film which is free of the bright spot (foreign substance) defects and has excellent flawing resistance and durability. <P>SOLUTION: The polarizing plate, the liquid crystal display device and the image display device are obtained by using the antiglare and antireflection film, which is constituted so that ruggedness of the extreme surface is formed from the outside after forming a low refractive index layer having the refractive index lower than the refractive index of a transparent support on the transparent support, wherein the average value in a wavelength region from 450 to 650 nm of specular reflectivity at 5° incidence is ≤0.6%, surface roughness Fa is 0.02 to 2.00 μm and Rz/Ra is 2 to 30. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
