PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily separate a synchronizing signal while realizing the miniaturization and the cost reduction of an optical scanner. SOLUTION: Laser beams Ly, Lk and Lm, Lc emitted from a plurality of light source units 1y, 1k and 1m, 1c which are composed of two semiconductor lasers and two coupling lenses corresponding to the lasers, respectively, are deflected with a rotational deflector 4 in which polygon mirrors 4a and 4b in which the angular phases are vertically dislocated are composed in a unit, photoreceptor drums 20y, 20k and 20m, 20c are scanned in X-direction or Y-direction, as shown with an arrow in the figure, via respective known optical elements, and the laser beams Ly, Lk and Lm, Lc are received with common synchronized sensors 21a and 22a, respectively, thus an easily separable synchronized signal is obtained.
