PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a functional part for control changing in accordance with the systems, kinds, volumes or the like of welding optionally to be connected as independent bodies divided into the main output part and a functional part for fundamental control, and to effectively attain the diversification of functions, the maintenance of the optimum condition, the improvement of rated output, the expansion of applying methods, a countermeasure against stabilization or the like. SOLUTION: The power unit is provided with an output part body 2 and a welding power source control part 3. These are housed respectively in individual cabinets 2a and 3a. The output part body 2 comprises a main output part 4 having a transformer and a reactor, and a fundamental control part 5 controlling current value and voltage value by the main output part 4 based on the command from the outside. The main output part 4 is provided with a cooling means for cooling the transformer and reactor, and the other various semiconductor parts.
