MOVING PICTURE DISTRIBUTION SERVER, MOVING PICTURE RECEIVING TERMINAL, IMAGE PACKET TRANSMISSION METHOD, AND IMAGE PACKET RECEIVING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a moving picture distribution system for distributing a moving picture without disturbance to a user at transmission restart after a temporary stop.

SOLUTION: The moving picture distribution server includes: a storage section for storing an image packet resulting from packetizing moving picture compression coding data including an intra-coding image and a forward or two-way prediction coded image; and a communication section that transmits the image packet read from the storage section to a moving picture receiving terminal when receiving a command of transmission start from the moving picture receiving terminal, searches the storage section when receiving a command of transmission stop from the terminal, stops the transmission of the image packet just before a temporary stop image packet being an image packet including a first intra-coded image after input of the transmission stop command, and restarts transmission from the temporary stop image packet when receiving a command of the transmission restart from the terminal.
