PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a back face projection type display device in which the state whether the operation of a power supply switch is accepted or not can be surely recognized. SOLUTION: The television device 1 is composed so as to be capable of displaying the display screen on a screen 6 by light-modulating the light emitted from a light source lamp 3, and by projecting the modulated light from its back face side. It is provided with a degaussing sound generating part 13 for sounding the pseudo degaussing sound, which approximates the degaussing sound to be emitted when degaussing processing is executed at the time of power-on of the television device 1 in a cathode-ray tube display device, an amplifier 11, and a speaker 12.
