PHOTOELECTRIC TRANSDUCER USING ELECTROLYTE LIQUID CONTAINING BENZIMIDAZOLE GROUP COMPOUND, AND DYE-SENSITIZED SOLAR CELL USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photoelectric transducer with a high open-circuit voltage and heightened in photoelectric transducing rate.

SOLUTION: The dye-sensitized photoelectric transducer comprises a semiconductor layer electrode having dye on a surface, counter electrodes, and electrolyte liquid, and the electrolyte liquid contains a benzimidazole group compound. It is preferable that the electrolyte liquid contains a redox type electrolyte liquid, and a halogen compound and a halogen molecule having halogen ion as counter ion can be used as a redox type electrolyte. It is preferable that the halogen compound is an iodic compound or a bromic compound, and that the halogen molecule is bromine or iodine. It is more preferable that the halogen compound is an inorganic salt or an organic salt of the iodine or the bromine.
