<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seat belt device capable of generating suitable tension according to the prediction situation of the presence of a collision when the presence or absence of the collision of a vehicle is predicted and an occupant is restrained to the seat with the seat belt. <P>SOLUTION: The seat belt device 15 restrains the occupant 10 to the seat 13 with the seat belt 14, and has an actuator 29 fastening and unfastening the seat belt 14, a plurality of collision prediction means 38, 39 predicting the presence or absence of the collision of the vehicle, and a control means 35 generating the tension to the seat belt 14 by controlling the actuator 29.
