<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image protecting film capable of smoothly performing thermal transfer processing and capable of forming a protective layer excellent in image protecting properties, blocking resistance or the like on an image surface, an image protecting method using the same and overcoated recorded matter. <P>SOLUTION: The image protecting film 1 has a support 2 and protective layer 3 laminated on the support 2 peelably and thermally transferred to the image surface of recorded matter. The protective layer 3 is laminated on the support 2 and has a two-layered structure comprising a first protective layer 3a becoming the outermost surface layer when thermally transferred to the image surface of the recorded matter and the second protective layer 3b functioning as the adhesive layer to the image surface. The first protective layer 3a is formed by coating the support 2 with a coating composition containing a thermoplastic resin, a reactive silane compound and colloidal silica and heating and drying the coated support. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
