<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic part mounting apparatus and a mounting method, which are capable of satisfying both high mounting position accuracy and a high-efficiency part mounting operation at the same time. <P>SOLUTION: Electronic parts are sucked up and held by a plurality of nozzles provided to a mounting head in the electronic part mounting method. The electronic parts are sucked up and held by the nozzles, the electronic part sucked up and held by one of the nozzles is temporarily positioned above an electronic part mounting area, the electronic part and the electronic part mounting area are observed with an observing head located between a board and the mounting head, a relative position detection for obtaining a relative positional relation between the electronic part and the electronic part mounting area is carried out for all the electronic parts held by the mounting head, and a mounting operation of positioning and mounting the electronic part in the electronic part mounting area reflecting the obtained relative positional relation between them is successively carried out for all the electronic parts. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
