<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable to supply reaction gas to a fuel cell in humidified state at the time of operation of the fuel cell and to perform moisture purge of the fuel cell appropriately in a short time by supplying the dry purge gas (reaction gas) at the time of stopping the operation of the fuel cell. <P>SOLUTION: When a fuel cell 1 is in operation, reaction gas is passed through a humidifying device 2 and humidified by moisture in the off gas, and supplied to the fuel cell 1. In the meantime, when operation of the fuel cell 1 is stopped, supply of the reaction gas is temporarily continued and by operating a reaction gas channel switching valve 6, full amount of purge gas is flowed in the reaction gas bypass channel 5, and the dry reaction gas is promptly supplied to the fuel cell 1 as the purge gas without being humidified by the humidifying device 2. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
