PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a display member, whereby a barrier can be formed with high precision and in a high yield by a simple process, and a display member using this member while having excellent display quality. SOLUTION: This method of manufacturing the display member is to form a barrier pattern by going through a process to apply photosensitive paste on a substrate on which an electrode is formed, a process to expose a photosensitive paste coated film two or more times through a photo-mask, and a process to remove a portion of the already exposed coated film, which has not been exposed and has not been hardened, by a developing solution. The photo-masks on which the line width Wn of the photo-mask used for n-th exposure and the line width Wm of the photo-mask used for m-th exposure are different are used for exposure (n, m are integers of 1 to 5, and n<m is satisfied).
