PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a line beam generating optical system for generating a plurality of line beams having a wide angle in a simple configuration, and to provide an inexpensive laser marking apparatus for emitting a plurality of line beams. SOLUTION: A light reflection surface for reflecting incident light is formed at one portion of a light incident surface side in the lens surfaces of a rod lens 1. The film thickness of a reflection surface has a film thickness distribution for canceling a shape error peculiar to the rod lens, thus obtaining line beams having an extremely high indication precision. Additionally, by mounting the light beam generating optical system to the laser marking apparatus, precise line beams in a plurality of directions can be obtained with a simple configuration.
