PURPOSE: A front panel is provided to achieve improved aperture ratio by using a comb-shaped display electrode, and improved contrast by forming a floating electrode all over a non-discharge area. CONSTITUTION: A front panel comprises a scan electrode constituted by a stripe type first main electrode(103) for forming a discharge gap in a discharge cell and a first branch electrode(104) branched off and extended from the first main electrode; a sustain electrode constituted by a second main electrode(101) which cooperates with the first main electrode so as to form a discharge gap(G) and second branch electrodes(102) branched off and extended from the second main electrode and connected with each other between adjacent discharge cells so as to form a common sustain electrode; and a floating electrode(120) disposed on the connection portion between the adjacent discharge cells so as to prevent an erroneous discharge between the adjacent discharge cells.
