PURPOSE: A motor press working machine is provided to reduce the time for the first process of press forming by transferring an upper die at a high speed and to increase torque during a process. CONSTITUTION: A motor press working machine comprises a slider(5) having a frame(4) and an upper die(6) and sliding along a pillar(3), a connecting unit for upwardly and downwardly moving the slider via a ball screw shaft(19) driven by an AC servo motor(9), and a lower die(22). Based on the position signals detected by a continuously variable transmission(10) installed between the AC servo motor and the ball screw shaft and a pulse scale(23) detecting the position of the upper die, the upper die pressurizes a workpiece(24) placed on the lower die. During a press forming process, the AC servo motor is in a torque increase mode. Otherwise, the upper die is rapidly lifted up and down by a controller(25).
