The brake unit has a spring (5) with two ends and a coil (6) arranged in the vicinity of hood (4). A crank shaft (12) is mounted in rotation with the hood in a direction. A window regulator shaft (18) is mounted in rotation with the hood and driven in rotation by the crank shaft. The rotation of the crankshaft in a direction urges the two ends the spring to move the coil away and towards the hood. An Independent claim is also included for a window regulator comprising a brake unit.
