PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface acoustic wave device in which spurious waves caused by bulk waves are reduced. SOLUTION: The surface acoustic wave device A has, on a piezoelectric substrate, vertically connected resonator type surface acoustic wave filters 100, 200 having IDTs 101-103, 201-203 along the propagation direction of a surface acoustic wave. When resonance frequency values of two adjacent resonance modes on frequency axes of the surface acoustic wave filters 100, 200 are set as f<SB>1</SB>and f<SB>2</SB>, respectively, and the frequency of ripples caused by oscillations of bulk waves in the surface acoustic wave filters 100, 200 is set as f<SB>SSBW</SB>, f<SB>SSBW</SB>≠(f<SB>1</SB>+f<SB>2</SB>)/2 is satisfied.
