PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lubricant composition for rolling which is excellent in lubricity, can be efficiently attached to the surface of a hot work roll exposed to a large amount of high temperature cooling water, is not washed away, prevents seizing between a rolling material and the work roll and enables easy waste water treatment, and a hot-rolling method of the rolling material using the composition. SOLUTION: The lubricant composition for rolling contains a lubricant base oil, an inorganic solid powder and an organic titanium compound and/or an organosilane compound and, preferably, further contains organic bentonite.
