PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmission control unit in a belt type gearless drive mechanism that a slip of V belt does not occur even when a vehicle is accelerated again after an urgent deceleration to the low speed. SOLUTION: When the speed of the vehicle is below 8 km/h, the up-shifting determination condition is filled, the idling switch signal is off and the down-shifting is detected, the operation speed of a step motor is regulated. Thereby, the slip does not occur to the V belt between the pulleys because the transmission speed of the down-shifting that is carried out at the time of re-acceleration becomes late due to regulation of the operation speed of step motor even when the vehicle accelerates before the pulley ratio returns to Lo of the lowest by the urgent deceleration.
