PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photographing apparatus for utilizing a wireless LAN to transmit image data, which prevents transmission of image data from being interrupted during the transmission of the image data. SOLUTION: Whether or not the photographing apparatus exists in a communication available area is detected to transmit the image data obtained by photographing to an image server through a wireless LAN, and the photographing apparatus transmits the image data only when it is detected that the photographing apparatus exists in the communication available area.
