PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a folding-type camera device which can cope with further thinning, and to provide a folding-type portable telephone. SOLUTION: The folding-type camera device includes a first housing 100A having an optical sensor 113 for imaging an image, a second housing 100B having a lens unit 122 for projecting the image of a subject to the optical sensor 113 of the first housing 100A, and a coupling unit 100C for foldably coupling the first housing 100A to the second housing 100B. The optical sensor 113 and the lens unit 122 are disposed so that the optical sensor 113 and the lens unit 122 are superposed in a state of the first housing 100A and the second housing 100B being folded.
