PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical isolator constituted so that a variety of incorporation methods can be secured in the case of incorporating the isolator with an optical device, and also, which can be more miniaturized. SOLUTION: The optical isolator is assembled by using a base plate, a polarizer, a Faraday rotator, an analyzer and one magnet, and an optical element group wherein the polarizer, the Faraday rotator and the analyzer are mutually adhered in this order from a light incident side is fixed on the base plate with adhesive agent, and the magnet for applying a magnetic field on the Faraday rotator is arranged on one of three other side faces of the optical element group. And, ceramics such as alumina and non-magnetic matter such as SUS304 are used for the base plate.
