PURPOSE: A display system and method for improving picture quality when a moving picture is displayed are provided to increase brightness when a moving picture is displayed higher than brightness when a text is displayed. CONSTITUTION: A displaying method of a display system including a text mode and a moving picture mode includes a step(S1) of judging whether a user selects the moving picture mode, a step(S2) of reading high-luminance data stored in a predetermined address of an EEPROM when the user selects the moving picture, and a step(S3) of controlling brightness of the display system in response to the high-luminance data and adjusting contrast to a peak value. The contrast is not varied after adjusted to the peak value.
