<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle status display device which allows the driver to quantitatively grasp the remaining time or distance for which the internal combustion engine-driven vehicle can run, limited by degradation in the functions of a power supply system. <P>SOLUTION: Any degradation in the functions of or anomaly in the battery 26 or the generator 24 mounted in a vehicle which runs using its internal combustion engine as a power source is detected. If a degradation in the functions or the like of the battery 26 or the generator 24 is detected, the remaining running time for which driving of the internal combustion engine can be continued is computed based on the relation between the remaining capacity of the battery 26 or the power generation capacity of the generator 24 and the power consumption of the various sensors in an EFI system 28 and the load 30. The remaining running time computed is displayed on a display unit 34 in the combination meter 42 in the vehicle compartment which can be viewed by the driver. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
