<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic device provided with an image-based data input system capable of being packaged in a relatively narrow area. <P>SOLUTION: The electronic device is provided with; a window 2 provided with a contact surface 14 having an input region 15; a plurality of indicators 16 which are viewable in the input region 15; an image sensor which is so constituted and arranged that image signals corresponding to images of the input region 15 is generated; and a data input processor 20 which is coupled to the image sensor 18 and is operable to generate input signals on the basis of image signals generated by the image sensor 18 and a mapping between areas of the input region images and locations of the input indicators 16. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
