PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image input apparatus in which an inputted color image signal can be easily controlled on the basis of a control value. SOLUTION: The image input apparatus is provided with an image input part 1 which inputs a color image and outputs a color image signal, a color converting processing part 2 which uses a color conversion look-up table (LUT) to convert the color image signal from the image input part into a signal of a color space different from an original color space, a control value input part 6 for controlling the color image signal that is converted in the color converting processing part such as for inputting a control value for controlling a level of deepness in the black side of the color image signal or a change value for changing the color space of the color image signal, for example, and a color conversion LUT creating part 7 for creating the color conversion LUT in the color converting processing part on the basis of the control value inputted by the control value input part.
