PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hinge unit that can set up the operation resistance considering the center of gravity of the machinery for supporting. SOLUTION: The unit furnishes a bracket member 11 having a nearly tabular pivotal branch 12, fixed plates 14, 16 consisting of the material of excellent corrosion resistance equipped on at least one side of the pivotal support part 12 so that a relative rotation is impossible, a shank member 13 that inserts through the pivotal support part 12 and also the fixed plate 14, 16 to a turning free, friction plates 15, 17 equipped to the shank member 13 on the opposite side of the pivotal support part 12 so that a relative turning is impossible and an axial movement is free nipping the fixed plates 14, 16, a biasing member 18 equipped on the shank member 13 to a moving free axially which is the biasing means 18 to make press-contact the friction plates 15, 17 with the fixed plates 14, 16 and an assisting power means 21 that assist the shank member 13 to the turning direction against a bracket member 11.
