摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an adjustment amount sensor for a variable valve gear mechanism capable of controlling valve characteristic with high precision in the variable valve gear mechanism changing valve characteristic of an internal combustion engine by moving a control shaft in the axial direction. SOLUTION: Rotation phase difference dθa detected by the adjustment amount sensor 121 becomes the same as rotation phase difference between members in an intermediation driving mechanism caused by moving of the control shaft 132 in the axial direction in regard to physical amount. Even if deviation occurs between a shaft moving position of the control shaft 132 and the rotation phase difference between the members in the intermediation driving mechanism due to the environment in which an engine is placed, this deviation is reflected in the rotation phase difference dθa in the same way. Thus, information can be detected having no or little deviation from the rotation phase difference in the intermediation driving mechanism reflected directly in valve lift amount.
