PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively increase engine braking force of a vehicle in relation to an engine brake control device. SOLUTION: This device is provided with a throttle actuator connected to a throttle valve of an engine 22 and capable of varying throttle valve opening, an operation control means 10, 10' controlling operation of throttle actuator, and a fuel cut control means 18 performing fuel cut during deceleration travel of the vehicle. The operation control means 10, 10' calculates target throttle opening to increase load of the engine 22 and controls the throttle actuator to maintain the throttle valve at the target throttle opening during fuel cut control by the fuel cut control means 18.
