PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide high efficiency and high reliability in relation with an oilless linear compressor by reducing heat transfer resistance from a compression mechanism to a sealed container and lowering the temperature of the compression mechanism. SOLUTION: The compressor is equipped in the sealed container 101 with a linear motor 102 comprising a stator 102b and a moving element 103, a cylinder 104 defining a compression chamber 108, a piston 104 connected to the moving element 103 and reciprocating in the cylinder 104, and springs 106a, b expanding and contracting accompanied by the reciprocation of the moving element 103. At least one of the cylinder 104 and the stator 102b is fixed in the sealed container 101, and the outer peripheral surface of a heat generating portion is closely contacted with the inner peripheral surface of the sealed container 101. The heat of the heat generating portion is therefore transmitted to the inner peripheral surface of the sealed container 101 by solid heat conduction which has small heat transfer resistance, and can be efficiently radiated.
