PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink ribbon cartridge generally employed in a thermal printer and its assembling method, particularly to provide an ink ribbon cartridge having a plate spring for biasing an ink ribbon spool in the axial direction for preventing accidental rotation of the spool in the cartridge. SOLUTION: In the ink ribbon cartridge assembling method, the plate spring is inserted to a half-piece of a housing. The plate spring has a setting frame and a plate spring finger extending longitudinally in an acute angle from the setting frame to the opening of the setting frame for positioning the acute-angled spring finger in the half-piece of the housing. The ink ribbon spool having the rotation axis in the half-piece of the housing is inserted from side in respect to the rotation axis and opposing hub ends for guiding the spool in one direction along the rotation axis.
