<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an instrument and a method for observing laser beam welding conditions with which the investment to the cause of the welded defect with the laser beam can easily be performed. <P>SOLUTION: In the instrument for observing welding conditions with which an objective material to be processed is irradiated with the laser beam from a laser beam oscillator and the welding state welded to the objective material to be processed is observed, a camera for taking a picture of the welded state of the objective material to be processed with the laser beam, a recording part for recording the figure taken with the camera and a welded state deciding part for deciding the welded state of the objective material to be processed, are provided.
