PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a miniaturized solid state imaging device and its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: The solid-state imaging device comprises a one-chip plate-like imaging device chip which has a first area and a second area on its surface and with which the imaging device is formed in the first area and a peripheral circuit is incorporated under the second area, and is characterized by packaging electronic components on a surface of the second area.
