The present invention provides for a track for use in constructing metal stud walls. The track is a generally U shaped channel having a base and first and second upstanding sidewalk extending along either side of the base respectively, the first upstanding sidewall having a height of not more than about 2 inches and the second upstanding sidewall having a height of at least about 3 inches.
