PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ring magnet, a rotating electric machine, and a rotor for the rotating electric machine, capable of making the utmost use of a magnetic flux generated by the ring magnet and reducing a cogging torque in the rotating electric machine with the ring magnet. SOLUTION: The rotor R is constituted by securing the cylindrical ring magnet 2 having a plurality of poles in its circumferential direction, with adhesive C, on a core 1 having a shaft S in its center. The ring magnet 2 is formed so that a gap between an inner-periphery surface of the ring magnet 2 and an outer-periphery surface of the core 1 in a radial direction at a pole boundary portion B may become larger than the one at a pole center portion A. It is preferable to form the inner-periphery profile of the cross section of the ring magnet 2 in its circumferential direction so as to form a closed curve line in which a waveform of a sinewave shape is superimposed on a circle.
