PURPOSE: To obtain a display article excellent in ink absorbability, resolving power and water resistance and enhanced in gloss or transparency by adding a complex of polyvinyl alcohol and a metal salt to an ink receiving layer. CONSTITUTION: An image receiving material is fundamentally constituted of a base material as a support and the ink receiving layer provided on the base material and the ink receiving layer has a recording surface receiving ink corresponding to recording data. The ink receiving layer may have function as the base material and, if the ink receiving layer itself satisfies a predetermined strength, the image receiving material composed only of the ink receiving layer can be formed without using the base material. By using a complex of polyvinyl alcohol and an metal salt as the binder of the ink receiving layer, ink absorbability and the sharpness of a recording image are improved. Further, since blocking is not generated and a curl is hard to generate, this image receiving material can be suitably utilized in full color recording and light permeability or surface glossiness can be enhanced. |
