PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a minute wiring pattern and conductive pattern at a low cost. SOLUTION: In this method for manufacturing a composite member in which a conductive part is selectively formed on a specified section of an insulating porous material, formation for the conductive part is performed through a step for installing an electrode, a step for modifying a surface part, a step for infiltrating with electroplating liquid, and a step for electrolytic plating. The step for installing an electrode is a step for installing an electrode in the porous material. The step for modifying a surface part is a step for modifying a part of the porous material and changing its surface energy to form a pattern in which affinity for a water of a modified part is made different from that of a unmodified part. The step for infiltrating with electroplating liquid is a step for selectively infiltrating an insulating region of the modified part or the unmodified part in the selected porous material with the electroplating liquid while contacting with a surface of the electrode.
