PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera system provided with: a camera such as a digital camera; and a cradle for supplying power to the camera or delivering information to the camera, and for driving and charging the camera without increasing the capacity of a current supply source of the cradle. SOLUTION: The camera system is characterized by having a cradle control means that is connected to a camera control means when the camera is mounted on the cradle, switches a current switching means to a side of a camera drive power supply means when the camera control means outputs a camera driving state signal, and switches the current switching means to a side of a charging means when the camera control means outputs no camera driving state signal.
