PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process for producing a polymer by aqueous solution polymerization with a good productivity whereby no noxious gas is generated, neither forming impurities nor causing danger such as foaming arising from the gas. SOLUTION: This process for producing the polymer is carried out by the aqueous solution polymerization of a monomer under the control of temperature by essentially using either an external circulation type or internal coil type apparatus having heat exchange functionality.
