PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the whole dimension of a valve gate type mold assembly in a mold open and close direction. SOLUTION: The follower member 32 fixed to the base end of a valve pin 31 is linearly guided in the almost axial direction of the valve pin 31 is allowed to freely slide along a cam surface 36a inclined with respect to a mold open and close surface using a cam member 35 which and is allowed to advance and retreat so as to cross the axial direction of the valve pin 31. That is, by letting the cam member 35 advance and retreat in the direction crossing the axial direction of the valve pin 31, the valve pin 31 is allowed to advance and retreat in the axial direction to open and close a gate G.
