Plant for the production of technical gases, such as hydrogen and carbon dioxide, starting from solid refuse, packaging, even contaminated, and from other waste materials, comprising at least a preparation and separation unit to prepare and separate the materials into at least a first and a second sub-group according to pre-determined parameters. The plant comprises at least a gasification unit arranged downstream of the preparation and separation unit and provided with at least a first reactor (50) into which the first sub-group of materials is able to be introduced in order to be gasified by means of comburent means. The gasification unit comprises at least a second reactor (51) arranged in series and connected to the first reactor (50) and into which the second sub-group of materials is able to be introduced. Introduction means (515) are provided to introduce the gases produced by the first reactor (50) into the second reactor (51).
